So we are moving into a new apartment as part of Garrett's job as apartment manager/maintenance/carpentry, and this is our last week to move! It's been pretty stressful for me, but especially stressful for Garrett. Poor Garrett. He has repaired drywall, retextured walls, re-enameled the shower and bath, regrouted and caulked, rewired electric outlets, replaced fixtures, repaired heaters, refinished hardware, and ripped up all the carpet. This is all so that we can live in a place that is not squalid. Seriously, this place was NASTY - I wish I took "before" photos. I did take some "in-between" photos, but those don't really capture the essense of distaster. So Garrett has been working on our unit for the last couple weeks while also doing his regular job of apartment manager/maintenance, then coming home to a dirty house and me surrounded by boxes complaining about how we'll never finish moving in time.
The carpet went in yesterday, and now we can finally start moving some things in! Each evening I have been taking Naomi to Matt & Molly's so that we can get some packing and moving done. They have been so helpful to us, I don't know what we would do if we didn't have them here for support! Naomi absolutely loves the both of them - today we were looking at pictures, and I showed her a picture of Matt & Molly from their wedding day, and she started shouting HAAAA (meaning "hi") and waving at them.

Molly took some pictures of Naomi yesterday while she was playing at their home. She and Matt have a son named Wilder who Naomi will marry when she is older - it's an arranged marriage. Wilder doesn't care for Naomi invading on his personal space at home and stealing his parent's undivided attention, but for the most part, they play together really well. Wilder is SO smart and he is really into Bob the Builder, trains and diggers, and he repeats everything he hears. Naomi has gotten most of her hand-me-down toys from Wilder, and we continue to freecycle by storing in Molly's basement all of our baby stuff to go to the next friend who has a baby.
Anyway, even with all the excitement around here, Garrett and I are counting the day until we get to New York!

What a sweetheart in those pictures, and Naomi is a cutie too. We've really enjoyed having Naomi over this week. She seems to have lots of fun following Wilder around. Wilder, on the other hand, is not so excited, as you mentioned, but he needs the practice since WE'RE PREGNANT!!! Just kidding. But some day he'll have a little sibling that he'll have to share with. At least he has eight months to practice... just kidding again! 8^D

We were very happy to be able to help out, especially considering that Tanya and Garrett moved us into the house we live in now while I was 7 months pregnant and pretty useless. Thanks for letting Naomi come over! She's welcome any time.
